Course Objectives: This course is designed to prepare students with automotive, entrepreneurship and leadership skills to
be successful in the automotive industry. Students will learn through lectures, class discussions, and various
activities. The students will learn and understand different components of a vehicle and gain essential
knowledge to prepare them for a possible career in the automotive industry.

Certifications:
Students will have the opportunity to receive the following certifications:
-Osha Safety Certification

Rules & Procedures:
-Be prepared and on-time
-Complete and turn in all assignments
-Ask for permission to leave class
-Students must comply with all rules and procedure in the Elgin ISD student handbook.
Grading policy:
We will be on six week grading periods.
Every six weeks grade will be calculated as follows:
Daily Grade: 60% (warm-ups, daily assignments, participation…)
Quizzes and Test: 40% (projects, presentation…)

Trips and Eligibility
We will be attending the drag races at Houston Raceway in the spring and other possible trips. Students must
meet the following requirements to ELIGIBLE FOR TRIPS AND COMPETITIONS:
-Must be passing all classes.
-No ISS or DAEP placements.
-No more than 2 unexcused absences per six weeks.
-No more than 1 tardy per six weeks.
-No ore than 1 teacher assigned detention per six
weeks.
